MARBLEHEAD
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
A combination of Queen Anne and Shingle styles, this house, built in 1884, and its carriage house needed a total renovation. The original footprint of the house is kept intact, 50% of the interior partitions on the first and second floor were gutted, as was the entire third floor and roof. The main stair was flipped to create a grand two-story entrance foyer. Traditional and square in plan, the architects created a new shape for the house within the language of the Shingle style.
