THE PHILLIP R. MORSS HOUSE
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Phillip R. Morss House, located in the Chestnut Hill Historic District of Newton, was designed in 1925 by Boston architect William Chester Chase, showcasing a restrained Colonial Revival style. The current owners aimed to renovate the house and remove unsympathetic additions and alterations made in the 1980s and 90s.
Design Associates took on the project, removing the previous additions and replacing them with period-appropriate designs that cater to the homeowners' lifestyle. The renovations and a new linear pergola to enhance outdoor living space received unanimous approval from the Newton Historic Districts Commission.
